Cris Carter spent the 1990s reinventing the wide receiver position. The
quintessential possession receiver, his signature sideline catch is mimicked weekly by a new generation of pass catchers.
While short on speed compared to others at his position, Carter perfected the art of positioning himself in heavy traffic,
combining tremendous leaping ability with remarkable body control, to make the impossible catch with graceful ease.
The second man to reach the 1,000 reception mark(Jerry Rice) and third to
pass the century mark in touchdown catches (Rice, Steve Largent), he looks to take his rightful place in Canton. Carter
retired following the 2002 and currently works as an NFL analyst for ESPN.
